Entrance Auditions for the 2026-2027 Season - ROUND 2
Come be a part of the premier youth orchestra in Arizona! The Phoenix Youth Symphony Orchestras is now accepting audition applications for all of our ensembles for the 2026-2027 season. Please complete this audition application, including a $35.00 audition fee. Complete a separate application for each student musician, even if from the same family. Then, a PYSO staff member will contact you with more information on how to complete your audition. Audition Dates

Auditions will be in-person this year.

June 9, 2026 - Round 2 auditions are available for sign-up. Please select to audition for the highest ensemble you wish to be considered for, and indicate any scheduling conflicts by no later than July 15. 

July 7, 2026 – Round 2 audition sign-up window closed at midnight.

June 8, 2026 – Excerpts are posted for the ensembles that require them. Please check the ensemble information page for the ensemble you chose to audition for to see if excerpts are required.

July 29, 2026 – Scale selections will be posted for String Orchestra applicants.

August 1, 2026 – Audition Day schedules sent out to all applicants. Please keep the entire day and time frame available for the highest ensemble you’ve selected. If the student is not accepted into the ensemble of their choice, they will automatically be considered for additional ensembles and placed into the best ensemble to be successful.

August 8th, 2026 – Audition Day - All Ensembles (Location: Arizona School for the Arts - 1410 N 3rd St, Phoenix, AZ 85004)
*Arrival times for each applicant will be sent on August 1, 2026 via email. Please visit our Contact page and choose “Auditions” to submit a message if you have any conflicts between 8:00am-7pm on this audition day before July 15, 2026 if you did not put the information on your Audition Application initially. Any conflicts sent after July 15th may not be able to be accommodated.

After auditions, final selections and registration links will be sent to all applicants. Ensemble placements after auditions are for the entirety of the season.
